My point is that the vast majority of even liberal white folks are at most embarrassed the US is doing this. Not planning where to park a van full of pea shooters, or how to fill a semi with autonomous flying toys and commercially avaliable consumer grade hazmats.
Acknowledging how the media handles issues and how the majority of America reacts is not being hopeless. You can acknowledge an unpleasant reality while still fighting to make it better.
