Alpine Managing Director Steve Nielsen admitted the team were "disappointed" by Franco Colapinto ignoring a team order to remain behind team mate Pierre Gasly in the closing stages of the United States Grand Prix.
But where would Albon go? McLaren, Merc, and Ferrari are full. I don’t think he’d want to go back to RBR which also rules out RB. Going to Alpine or Haas is a step down. I don’t think he’s interested in Cadillac which means the only available choice is AM and unless Stroll finally gets the boot there’s no place in AM either. Williams is happy with Albon and I think Albon is happy with Williams. Also Williams could’ve had Colapinto if they wanted to and they chose not to.
The most likely trajectory for Colapinto is out of F1 with maybe some hope of getting back with Cadillac (if Perez or Bottas underperforms).
