The most disturbing part IMO is that they often insist they’re not “real” eggs and nobody really knows how it works.

Now consider that apart from a slip here or there in early material, most pokémon canon assumes there are no non-pokémon animals in this universe. How the hell do they know what a “real egg” is?

Well historically, in Canon humans in pokémon were able to interbreed. There are pokémon in humans in the same a group and humans used to marry pokémon.

Considering there are countless numbers of Pokemon that exhibit human-like intelligence, the ability to communicate in various languages and have full self-realization…

It’s more a matter of does the pokémon in question fit said description of being a human equivalent intelligent and self-actualized creature versus the dumber or more feral ones.

Cuz realistically so long as the pokémon is of the intelligent variety that can communicate then it doesn’t really matter. There’s some weird biology going on but frankly that’s not really a problem. Cuz in all realistic aspects you’re just looking at extreme dimorphosism more than you are bestiality or something.

Like realistically no one’s going to be out here trying to argue that Mewtwo would not be able to give consent. Understand exactly what’s happening and is just as human as anyone else despite the body plan.

It’s also safe to say that no one’s going to be out here trying to realistically argue that of a porion is any more intelligent or aware than your average canine volpine or feline.

Point is Mewtwo is okay. They pass the harkness test. Vaporeon is not okay. They do not pass the harkness test.

Do not the fish cat fox dog.

The real question ANY of us should be asking, is if humans laid eggs instead of live birth, would we eat our own regularly-laid infertile eggs?

Maybe some of the bird types lay “real” eggs, how exactly they would differ from other eggs is beyond me though lol

Egg Bomb is a move. Also, the Chansey line has an actual egg on its belly pouch. Why those are real eggs and pokemon eggs aren’t is a real mystery

That makes sense. To pokéworld humans, real eggs are just the ovoid shit pokémon use as a weapon or carry around for absolutely no discernable reason. Thus, the capsules they use to deliver new pokémon when they reproduce are “fake eggs”.
