your entire point is bullshit. you have no idea how many vegetarians, who did not bother to share their thoughts with you, you met.

Likewise, anyone saying something about “omnivores”/“carnivores” etc can only go off of who opened their mouths to them.

Again, my point is just as valid as the person saying they’ve encountered many more non-vegetarians trying to convert people. They don’t know how many, who did not bother to share their thoughts with them, they met. By your own words.

If you think it’s bullshit, well you said it, not me. I’m not arguing against that. I’m saying that the comment I first replied to is bullshit too, if that’s what you want to call it.

I’m not making any judgement on vegetarianism, veganism, or anybody’s dietary requirements or choices.

I’m saying that the entirety of “well I’ve never seen it”, “well I have!” is fruitless clashing of anecdotes. It’s slightly more wordy “nuh-uh!” “yeah-huh!” except people get reinforcement on whatever they already believed.

And I find it hilarious and somewhat unbelievable that anyone over the age of 21 hasn’t met a single vegan that tried to convert people, not even one, but has met multiple non-vegans spamming pictures of meat at vegans to… try and convert them. Are you kidding me? Who the fuck does something like that, it reads like an “and then everybody clapped” story. How the fuck did that get so many upvotes?

again - no, it is not. you don’t even understand the point.

anecdotal evidence is not very rigorous proof (though i assume there is not much formal research done in this area), but that is not the point.

see, while person claiming he never met a vegetarian doing that can indeed confirm the fact, you have no way of confirming majority of vegetarians you met were doing that. because you have no way of counting the vegetarians you met not doing that.

so while the other person can confirm the low number, you have no way to confirm your perceived high one. your argument fails to work even in the framework of the anecdotal evidences.

but has met multiple non-vegans spamming pictures of meat at vegans to… try and convert them. Are you kidding me? Who the fuck does something like that

lot of meat eaters. it is just that you do it so habitually you don’t even realize you are doing that. you will just come to an image of a cow saying “hey, my steak is coming” thinking you are funny.

here you have few of them, who just felt the need to share their steak or stupid joke without being asked:

vegans share their thoughts when it becomes topic of the conversation - it is really the meat eaters who will shout out of the blue “uh uh, mah steak!”, because they feel everyone needs to hear it.

it is similar to when people say “you know, i don’t mind gays, but do they really have to shove it to everyone’s face on their pride parades?” without realizing that the fucking carneval in rio is exactly that - a straight pride parade - you just don’t realize it, because it is “normal” to you".
