This is probably going to be an unpopular opinion, but, imma say it anyway. If what you’re using now works for you and your family and people are happy with continuing to use it, then keep using it. There is no ethical consumption under capitalism. You have to pick your battles, and pick what you spend your time and your energy on. I personally don’t know anything about tidal, I made the switch to YouTube music bc I already pay for YouTube premium, and I used their import tool for my liked songs and my playlists. Very easy, seamless experience for me, only a couple songs “couldn’t be found” or YouTube picked the “wrong” version (like it picked a live version over a studio recording, for example).

But if what you’re using is working out … Idk man, might just be easier to keep using it. Esp since you’re making it sound like you simply don’t want to actually switch and you’re starting to cave to peer pressure.

I mean I want to switch because I want the minimal evil. I’ve normally defaulted to using things that meet my ethics over convenience. Most things for my family I set up and work around the evils. Music is a harder one for me to work with becasue I don’t understand it, so it’s harder for me to find a good alternative. So for me on the surface all will be equal… for my son and wife, I can’t predict that because I don’t really know enough to see “oh she’ll hate this” or “none of her music will be in it”, because I don’t understand anyone elses tastes in music.
