Embattled FBI duo face renewed scrutiny over botched response to Brown University shooting
Kash Patelās troubled tenure as Donald Trumpās FBI director may be āat its end,ā according to multiple sources, in the wake of the recent mass shooting at Brown University along with a series of other perceived mishaps. Meanwhile, staffers also say that Deputy Director Dan Bongino is already āout the door,ā signaling a larger shakeup at the agency.
Patel boasted Sunday on X that the FBI had brought in a āperson of interestā in the Brown shooting using āgeolocation capabilitiesā and then added that Providence Police Chief Oscar Perez had praised the FBI for following through on a tip to locate the potential suspect.
A few hours later in a Sunday evening press conference, however, Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha said that person had been released, as there was āno basisā to keep them in custody. Patel had made similar announcements about a āperson of interestā during the early stages of the FBIās investigation into Charlie Kirkās murder, and was also forced to walk those back.

Imma put on my tin foil hat for second and say that Iām pretty sure them being incompetent and eventually fired was always the point. They were used just like the rest of MAGA to do the ādirty workā of dismantling the institutions. Now that they have fucked it all up they can bring someone in that is competent to āsaveā it but will intentionally rebuild these institutions to serve the purposes of the Heritage Foundation and tech bros. These guys were just used for their stupidity to make room for the smart people that can actually build the fucked up systems that they want.
They dont exactly have a deep bench here.
Yeah exactly. Next up: a just-as-incompetent-MAGA-clown, Missouriās AG. Thatās the poor manās Florida AG.
