The whole world is looking at you thinking that in 2026 you might stop being a democracy and you talk of a single general strike… in 2028!!! Just… wow.
Because of the Taft-Hartley Act here in the states, it’s illegal for unions to strike for any reason except as a tactic to move negotiations along when ironing out a new union contract. So, yes, this is a general strike that’s 2 years in the making, not in retaliation to current events. By getting union contracts to expire around that time. It sounds ridiculous, because it is. This is the workaround so that the idea isn’t DOA.
Point is that in 2028 you might not have the right to strike even for that…
I don’t disagree, but there’s not really another way to organize this that won’t completely break apart right at the jump.
