That may be true in some part, though I think people on Hexbear tend to conflate any criticism of their personal takes on leftism as an attack on leftism as a whole. However, in this case he did specify the “vocal” aspect of Hexbear. So I think you’re just being a little oversensitive.
I can’t say I agree with there being anything particularly out of the norm with Hexbear beyond their leftism, so when people describe them as “almost completely unhinged” in particular, that sets off red flags.

Eh… Imo they tend to be very small tent about their leftism. Anything that runs against the popular grain can get you blocked or get you told you’re a dirty lib.

Hexbear has obviously had issues with this to the point where the mod team has had to remove forums and put out warning to their own community to stop sexism and transphobia.

Hexbear takes transphobia and sexism far more seriously than most other instances, you’re acting like sexism and transphobia is a prominent issue on Hexbear. Hexbear can be quick to dogpile, but that’s true here on this very thread as well from Lemmy.worlders (or at least attempts). I’m indeed identifying the core issue percieved with Hexbear as the leftism itself, the strict adherance to Marxism and anarchism.
