On Friday morning, cellphone footage originating from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent Jonathan Ross showing the murder of Minneapolis mother and wife Renee Nicole Good was leaked to right-wing media. The new footage conclusively demonstrates that Ross deliberately positioned himself in front of Good’s vehicle to justify murdering her.

I’m not surprised, but I thought body cams was mandatory in the US.
They’re not police. They have even less legal power than police. They’re trying to intimidate.
Laws aren’t being followed currently
It’s a state by state requirement. There’s no federal body cam requirement.
ICE are required by DHS policy released in 2023 to wear body cams. Whether they actually are or not is anyone’s guess.

Body cam footage is hard to tamper with. Cellphones and GoPro videos however can be easily deleted. I wouldn’t be surprised if, despite policy, DHS agents are being unofficially discouraged from using body cams. Just like the administration is using Signal rather than their oversight-friendly official apps.
Not even that–it’s jurisdiction by jurisdiction.
