I’m not the most prolific poster ever, but you’ll notice I’ve not once posted anything about world news.
I also heavily curate my frontpage so as to not see any of this bullshit if possible. Some things slip through but my keyword block list is pretty robust.
I’m just trying to live without a firehose of anxiety inducing shit blasting me in the face every second of the day. Honestly, I’m getting close to shelving Lemmy like I did with all my other social media at this point. Lemmy’s not bad, but I’m really starting to feel like it might be good to disconnect for a while.

if you want to ignore what’s going on in the world, that’s your right to do so. it’s selfish to chastise everyone else for coping with this shit how they see fit.
it’s not the community’s responsibility to ensure you feel safe and comfortable.
