When I was the best man, I worked on my speech for like a month, kept it to like three minutes, had nothing to drink beforehand, and shortened it on the fly to match the maid of honor’s.
It’s astounding to me that people almost always do something other than maximum effort for people that care for and trust them enough to make them a best man or maid of honor.
We didn’t do speeches at my wedding. It was awesome
Last wedding I went to, the best man speech was basically “we’re drunks! Isn’t that awesome and hilarious?!” [Paraphrasing]. It was sooo painful.
Haven’t been to a wedding recently but I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the speeches are LLM slop now, too.
I was at a funeral today. I swear the pastor’s sermon was written by an LLM. Dude needs to go back to the traditional way: downloading sermons from religious websites.
Problem is that those are LLM written now too.
I’ve been to a few in the last year. Yeah man, pretty much. You can practically hear the em dashes

I GIVE THEM A YEAR!
“see you all at the next one!”
I like that though, the awkwardness feels real and intimate. If someone delivered a flawless speech I would just think that they deliver other speeches in the same manner for their soulless work presentations
Skill issue.
Well yeah.
Oh, she is going to have the best time of the year.
