Someone should mod this.
I agree

I remember a LOT of people giving up gaming entirely during the transition to 3D because of this. That was when a lot of the people who experienced the arcade era stopped keeping up.

It’s hard for me to imagine anyone else in any of the roles. They are all such perfect fits.

There is a current wild theory relating to his fortnite account circulating. People found his account name and receipts for vbucks in the most recent release. His account activity was allegedly active up until he was jailed, then a gap, and then activity again in 2024.

I don’t remember where I picked it up, but it wouldn’t have been here. I guess this joke already made the rounds in a few forms.

That was a close one!

Argh, sorry!

My gaming/hobby time is typically after getting the kids down too. As long as I don’t sit down and get distracted, I can manage to get some good time in, but my brain is tired by then.

I gave up on this game a long time ago. It took me longer than it should’ve to realize that “old Blizzard” is gone and not coming back.

If every country dealing with this wasn’t beholden to business interests requiring “line go up”, this sort of thing could be considered natural and self correcting rather than a crisis.
Population decline would mean more housing supply on the market, more competition to hire employees (better salaries and benefits), lower tuition costs to attract more students to your local university, etc. All the things that would make it easier for young couples who want kids to get established and stable earlier in life.

Not to be too preachy, but it’s the same mindset that makes us good at capitalism that hurts us in these moments. It’s really hard to compartmentalize this.
