funny thing kurtzman stole material from the fan-novels, the books arnt canon though. and even went cringe as so far to use words from the alpha and beta wiki pages. the borg alliance with federation from a fan novel, rogue changling from another book, more than likely he just searched on memory beta(non-canon) works. STO would be canon-adjacent.
I thoroughly enjoyed Lower Decks, just because it’s a comedy doesn’t mean it isn’t serious sci fi with real stakes like any other trek show. It highlights how absurd the writing of trek throughout can be and still rolls with it, still treating that absurdity with the same seriousness as everything else crazy in the universe.
Huh. I’ll have to give Lower Decks a chance; it’s the only one with the name Kurtzman attached that I haven’t yet watched and been disappointed by.
Lower Decks is top tier Star Trek.
The more widespread your Star Trek knowledge, the more you’ll enjoy it.
It’s Star Trek written by true Star Trek nerds.
What if you don’t enjoy people acting obnoxiously? S.O.L.?
Then stick through the first couple eps. The characters do develop. I was kinda meeeer first watch, but then it found its feets
Just like every other trek series it takes a bit to grow the beard.
Stick to true trek.
Maybe even explore the books.
