    That’s right! It’s not worth doing anything at all because it isn’t perfect and nothing can ever be incrementally improved.

      Thats not what’s being said… but an inordinate amount t of time and energy is being spent on the least impactful option. That is a problem.

        I would buy (or fund) a train if I could, but an electric car is the best I can afford. If I have to drive anyway, I should at least make it electric.

        I’m very disappointed that I can’t catch a train across Australia on the tracks that already exist.
        There is one train from Melbourne to Adelaide, but it doesn’t connect with public transport, only runs on some days, is slower than driving, and more expensive than flying.
        Surely it couldn’t be that hard to just run a cheap commuter train on the existing tracks. A sleeper train would be perfect for that distance too.
