Conscious of reaching climate goals and strapped for space, some cities are reconsidering how much they dedicate to parking. Austria's capital, Vienna, is streets ahead.
This is to positive. Vienna is very slowly moving in the right direction when you look at the inner city. But, the local politicians still have a car fetish and are, at the very moment, trying to build an unnecessary highway through a national park.
Not disagreeing with anything you wrote, but TBF that highway is planned as a tunnel below the national park. Still, more space for cars will cause an increase in traffic. Only way I could support this if they instead demolished part of the A23, maybe build a railway or tram track in its place, hey can’t a man dream… 😁😎

Investing billions for a tunnel through a national park which most likely will destroy the local enviroment (Au) which is already at a breaking point.
Keep the A23 and make it ZEV only, build some more public transport, would be my suggestion.
