A short eared owl barks at a northern harrier. This shortie decided to land right near me to hide a vole in the grass. However, a harrier knew something was up and it was circling above the owl. Naturally the short eared owl wasn’t too happy about it.

The sentiment is exactly the same as well! Around these parts though, we say that the cat looks like a hissing owl. 😉
Owls have been around 30 million years longer than any known felines, so cats are the newcomers.
