Ostracising people for who they voted for pushes them further and isolates them to echo chambers where they become more extreme

The biggest impact you can have is ongoing casual and fair discussion of candidate policy and the effect on them going forward

When you put them on the defensive the natural response is to clamp down on their views harder

The problem with having a casual and fair discussion about candidate policy is that you’re doing it with a backdrop of people being murdered in the streets by fascist death squads and your lack of urgency just drives home for these people that it can’t be that big of a deal if you’re still having a civil discussion about it.

There is no way to be civil and fair with people who have decided this kind of activity is acceptable - they do not have consciences to appeal to. They are the people who only understand fear of repercussions and the exercise of force as behavioral modifiers.

        https://www.economist.com/interactive/trump-approval-tracker

There is not a single demographic with a positive approval rating for Trump

If the majority of people that voted for Trump are unhappy with their pick, it should be easy to swing their votes

Your refusal to engage and ostracising people who don’t even like what they voted for will do nothing in the long term to improve the country

This statistic raises the question: did they stop supporting Trump because of logical arguments, or because they lost friends and social status?

If they’re unhappy NOW, after the last decade of fucking nonsense, then they can GOOOO FUUUUUCK THEMSELVES.

Us holding hands and singing Kumbaya with them isn’t changing their minds. The fact that their shit decisions are finally affecting them is what’s changing their minds.

If the majority of people that voted for Trump are unhappy with their pick, it should be easy to swing their votes

Lol. You don’t have much experience with conservatives, do you? Let me make it easy.

          Party > Country

Every. Fucking. Time. Them being unhappy with Trump in no way, shape, or form means they’re going to swing their votes to a different party. They would NEVER. Under pain of death. Under pain of their children dying. Nothing.

It’s always the same with conservatives. Support a piece of shit scum loser until they legally can’t vote for him anymore, then pretend they never knew the guy and proceed to vote for the next piece of shit scum loser with an “R” next to their name.

Ostracising people for who they voted for pushes them further and isolates them to echo chambers

I’d say they were already neck deep in an echo chamber to vote for a convicted felon and adjudicated rapist with one failed presidency under his belt who openly states that their family members who are liberals are a danger to our nation.

When you put them on the defensive the natural response is to clamp down on their views harder

That ship sailed a decade ago and MOUNTAINS of facts haven’t swayed them back to reality.

Your mindset is one you should have had a decade ago. A lot has happened since then. These people are not still redeemable and no energy should be wasted on trying to redeem them, only beating them into submission.
