I type my search into the post and then usually some kind person finds me a link and calls me a asshole
I dunno. Steam did it well enough. I was buying cheap games for years. I could get a kick ass GOTY game for like $5 while GameStop was still selling it used on consoles for $20.
Lemmy: why aren’t people using Linux? It’s so easy
Also Lemmy: webp huh?
Lemmy folk forgetting that not every person cares enough to switch OSes.
If you ever work tech support even at a basic level, you’ll see. It’s not even boomers or genZ. I helped a grown ass human who was my age at 40yo how to install a Firefox extension.
That could have been me a few years ago. I was still using teamviewer up until 2020 to connect to my desktop from my laptop. It’s so handy.
Fortunately it was when I started learning about open-source solutions
Whenever I see those “All the companies that use us” banner, I shrug.
If I was a scammer, why wouldn’t I include a dozen companies?
After the first 100, the other 300 kinda don’t matter.

The moment Musk fired engineers, I removed my account. Then I watched Twitter integration fail for a few applications Ive worked on, and removed that login/access.
From there, I watched multiple services fail. Ive watched spam bots take over. I watched drama after drama, Musk demanding weird choices like his tweets get priority.
It’s such a mess.
Ooof not sure why you got downvoted.

“I’m sorry, can you repeat that?”
“I’m sorry, can you repeat that?”
“I’m sorry, can you repeat that?”
Oh you’ll get McDonald’s AI… You’ll All See! (Clown angrily shakes fist)
You don’t like a stoned teenager going, “Uh what?” And mumbling every few seconds?
(Joking of course)
Touch screen self checkout lines at supermarkets are absolutely abysmal.
Touch screen self ORDERING stations for food… Glorious.
The good machines (uncertain about McDonald’s) let’s you customize everything. Want three pickles? So it. Half mayo? Sure. No top bun? Live your life!b And it gives you ingredient listings.
And whose to say the minwage cashier even knows what’s in the food? Not at all a insult, but in my area, many cashiers have English as their third/fourth language.
Nah. Our stupid ass government only recently started hiring hackers who smoke weed. But even then, there’s too much stupid red tape.

It also doesn’t help that the Republican Party have outright praised Russia, which means they’re already inside.
