I thought it was one of the microblog communities, but not positive. It was someone having 6 kitkats stacked up and taking a bite out of all of them.

I’ve had a really shitty flu, so I’ve been on way too much myself.

Wait, are you saying that you think nestle had a direct hand in that post?

Seemed like a comical idea of eating way too much candy using something that was flat because the shape worked.

The company you seemed to be implying was astroturfing in the parent post when you said this and followed it up with a solid description of how shitty they are as a company.

I was kind of surprised that they tried to astroturf here.

No, what do you mean by nestle? Do they have bots that probably send out advertisements disguised as posts? Abso-fucking-lutely. A pizza company had one just a few days ago. These are super easy to spot here on Lemmy. Is it one of the suits in the c-suite? Nah.

Just a guess, but when the person you’re replying to says “nestle” they mean “the company of nestle, it’s employees and all their bullshit” rather than “this specific person from the company” like most people…

I doubt many people are under the illusion that major players in any company are directly involved with astroturfing on websites they don’t own.

It’s always going to be a low level employee, possibly even an unpaid intern.

Right, which is why I explained it below.

No, what do you mean by nestle? Do they have bots that probably send out advertisements disguised as posts? Abso-fucking-lutely. A pizza company had one just a few days ago. These are super easy to spot here on Lemmy. Is it one of the suits in the c-suite? Nah.
