Why is your butter in the fridge? Do you like holes in your toast with 3 globs of cold unmelted butter on the surviving toast surface?

I live in a desert and like having a puddle of oil on the counter even less. Winter months, sure. But 75% of the year it just isn’t an option. I’ve lost entire freshly opened sticks leaving them out for a couple hours after cooking.

Yep, I did this once with some kerry gold and nearly cried. Our kitchen is on the south facing wall in the desert, there’s just no way to keep it cool enough in summer for butter to be kept out. Same with bread and bread adjacent foods. At least we have prewarmed dinner plates in summer.
