I’m honestly torn. Trump is definitely being “handled” by the Project 2025 architects (the Heritage Foundation), but he is such an idiotic narcissistic ass that he also tends to fuck their plans up a bit. Vance, on the other hand, will be a dutiful little soldier boy, and not get in their way so much - which is why the HF got Trump to pick him despite the bad blood between them. I’m really a bit more scared of that - kind of a “be careful what you wish for” situation.

You’re forgetting that cults don’t continue when the leader is gone. Trump doesn’t his entire life getting people to believe him and love him or hate him he is good at it. Vance sucks. No one likes him and he will not be able to continue the grift when Donny dies. They have no one past him that can handle the base and the party. There is going to be a lot more pain when he is gone because of all the fighting. Better case unfortunately would be for midterms to happen then he dies then at least there’s a chance the GOP won’t have full control over the government

That’s kinda what I mean - if Trump dies now, the HF still has plenty of time left before the midterms to do the most damage possible using Vance. I’m sure they have their marionette strings tied to enough Republican Congress critters to get their stuff done even without Trump’s bullying & they can coach Vance on the rest. If Trump goes, I think I’d rather it be a LOT closer to the midterm election.

ETA: Don’t forget they’re the party in power, and can change all sorts of things that will affect their chances in the election, too. Those things don’t have to hold up legally, just cause legal delays that let them keep power.

All true, but we are very near a point with USA where Vance doesn’t need a cult following, he can rule as a dictator supported by oligarchs. He already has the military and intelligence services and the supreme court. The rest will follow, as resistance is weeded out by those powers.

That is the goal of Project 2025 and the Heritage Foundation.

They’re still going to be loyal to the party because they’ve been brainwashed to think Democrats (who are unfortunately the only other viable option) are out to destroy them & their way of life. It’s gonna take a long time for that to wear off for any significant number of them - during which time another acolyte may be found to carry the torch.

I think the cult will carry a torch for Trump, and Vance - as Trump’s “chosen” successor - can be coached by the HF (likely already has been) to rally the troops effectively enough to achieve their goals. I agree Vance is likely to fuck something up enough eventually to turn the base off, but not right away - and that’s possibly just enough time to do a lot more damage.

Don’t get me wrong - I hope I’m wrong and you’re right - but I just can’t be sure, and so am hoping for the best while planning for the worst.

Punishing Trump is about the ongoing global chaos and harm to humans. The people most responsible for perpetrating these crimes see themselves as beyond the law. They need to see that there are lines that, if they cross the line, they will die in disgrace like a common criminal.

You’re right they used a cropped old photo, but are you saying he can’t wear the same outfit or ride in the same vehicle he did a few years ago? He’s old and probably a creature of habit, he might have superstition around clothes in sports and the cars may be part of his usually fleet.

I get what you’re saying, but it sounds a little conspiratorial to me.

Such a confusing take. You start by saying they used old photo, which is my point, as they are claiming this photo is proof of life, since he hadn’t been seen in three days.

Then you insinuate I am saying it’s not possible for him to wear the same clothes or ride in the same car as 6 years ago.

Sure it’s possible that this is all coincidence and yep he’s got the same SUV and the same clothes and the photographer had to stand at the same location.

I just think the probability is lower that this is proof that Trump is prancing around golf courses kicking balls closer to holes. Just seems a little odd.

Like the probability that someone gets grazed by a bullet and the wound magically disappeared or that politicians create fake files planting the presidents name in them for 30 years. Sure, could happen…

My point is something’s fucky with this whole thing.

I’m saying that you posted two articles as proof while calling out the article linked here that had a cropped photo of something that happened in the older article you linked.

I am pointing out that this photo:

          And this photo/video:

…are different. Similar, yes, but different. The second is what was cropped for the originally linked article.

I don’t understand what is fucky about the media choosing photos they want for whatever clicks or emotions they want to evoke. This is how it always works.

Imagine if you will a scenario in which a photographer, taking more than one picture of an event in time. And then stretch that imagination a little further that said photographer could release some photos in 2019 and then other photos from the same event 6 years later. Then imagine, just for shits and giggles, that a president has a team of people who are managing public perception.

Just so we’re clear my point is it’s weird, not proof of anything, just really fuckin weird considering this guy’s history.

To be fair, the proportions on the Suburban with the plate ending on 002 are weirdly different. Look at the distance between the recess where the plate goes and the tail light. There’s also some weirdness with the top of he hatch. It could be something to do with the angle (or a different model of Suburban), but it could also easily be an image generator’s shitty job of trying to maintain a source image and losing the proportions.

Obviously that’s not any kind of certainty, but I’d be interested to see the source video that the more recent image was taken from.

Actually, there’s a lot of weirdness with this image. Where’s the Suburban’s tailpipe? Why is the “Suburban” text in the second SUV straight-on rather than at an angle? Did the stairs move? What’s going on with the lady in front with knees at two different heights? Why does the guy next to her look like he intentionally twisted up his pant legs as much as possible? Whose head is that poking up from behind it looking like they’re standing behind an object with no depth whatsoever? What’s with the inverted and blurred reflection of the guy standing behind the first SUV in the same pose as the first image? Why does the guy standing next to Trump have his hand cupped behind his back like he’s doing sleight of hand? Why is the Chevy logo on the front car smaller and not centered over the license plate?

Maybe it’s just a case of looking at an image for AI generation markers and finding a bunch of things that are actually more normal than they seem, but it certainly does make me wonder.
