You would think having lost to an actual piece of shit would be enough of a reality check. Just stop… ffs. The best thing Kamala can do is fade into obscurity like Al Gore.
She was not a bad candidate: a smart, fun, relatively young centrist. Her candidacy was dragged down mostly by Biden’s reluctance to tap out and by Trump barely surviving an assassination. Without either of those two things (especially the latter) she might very well have been the first female US president.
If she really becomes the candidate, the way to victory is for her not to embrace the woke left (especially the fucking morons who worked against her because they hallucinated some crazy Gaza things), and go for the center more clearly. Of course she’ll need to denounce the far right as well, but somehow I imagine that won’t be a problem for a D candidate.
The problem is that worldwide this is not a time for centrism. Promising “nothing will fundamentally change” is a great way to immediately lose an election.
Embracing centrism, like real centrism and not some Joe Rogan “centrism” would be an amazing change compared to the current situation. I agree that it’s never an easy thing to sell though.

If Kamala is the next candidate she will lose. This time democrats can’t simply pick a ‘status quo’ and establishment candidate. They need a person at a minimum moderatly left, a bit anti-establishment and they need to focus on universal healthcare, and then actually solve it. Then they will win the election after that again.

i voted for Waltz on the hope that maybe Harris would have some unfortunate accident early on and maybe we’d get an actual pro-labour president for once.

I will not vote again for Kamala Harris, nor for any other ordinary, boring, middle-of-the-road Democrat. “Vote blue no matter who” brought us to this point, where Democrats are so spineless and compromised, only a handful of elected Dems are willing to oppose fascism. Never again, for me. Give me a candidate worth voting for — that’s the only way to get my vote.
Let’s remove the dictator first, then we can work on the Party. Harris is a bad choice either way.
So if 2028 rolls around and you’re presented with a ballot with the choices “Donald Trump” and “Kamala Harris” on it for president, you’ll not vote for Kamala Harris?
If he’s on the ballot again then it’s all over anyway. That would be a third term and would need to be in a war time. So, if he’s on the ballot in 28’, we either have a war happening on our soil or, he’s going full traitor and the elections will be for nothing more than show.
As far as I’m aware there’s no “wartime” exemption from the term limit.
Th real question is, can he declare martial law to prevent or delay the 2028 elections thus extending his second term indefinitely?
