- Janeway was keeping track of her torpedoes about as well as most tabletop players keep track of their arrows and food reserves. - Ow, get out of my shame spiral.
- To be fair, 80% of the campaign consisted of the GM going “yeah, that sounds cool, let’s go with it”. When the players noticed, they took it to the extreme and described how they one-shotted the Borg Collective and insta-ported themselves back home. And got away with it.
- Janeway keeping track of her torpedoes about as well as most tabletop players keep track of how many times I tell them to stay off their phones during the game…and to not metagame…

- Actually it’s funny, just rewatched VOY and Neelix was one of Janeway’s most important resources/aces in the hole the whole way through. Everyone loves to complain about endless leola root casseroles and stews but the crew never went hungry and he always had a smile and a joke and a story, and he singlehandedly saved Voyager’s bacon more than a couple of times. - the crew never went hungry - Just like the ship never ran out of torpedos. - I never bought the “can’t replace them”. Really? Can’t figure out how to make a blowy up thingy with all those trading outposts? Sure it might not be as fancy but you could get something. - Sure, I’d buy that. But that’s not what they claimed in show, and they never even implied otherwise. Ammo shortages were a plot point for pretty much the entire series. - Ammo shortages are still possible even if you’re restocking frequently. In FTL: Faster than Light, many shops only have a limited quantity of missile ammunition for sale, so you’re rarely “fully stocked”.
- I think this is where they missed what the series could have been. Start with squeaky clean, then go into trading, hacking together tech, maybe turning to arms dealers. - Like those episodes where the NX-01 Enterprise was in the Delphic Expanse and almost completely destroyed
- Picking up a bunch of new crew until they end up with a new mission of figuring out how to get around the galaxy quickly so they can make visits to each other not require generational ships.
- I’d watch that

- Thank you for bringing this into my life.
- Yep, that was the one I had in mind!

- We do not stand for Neelix hate in this household - That man is a treasure!! - Dad when someone insults Neelix

- This is your periodic reminder that Gary Gygax was a sexist garbage fire of a man, even for the 1980s. - ha I went down the “did Gary Gygax play Neelix” path. No he’s just in the first frame of this meme. - Lol thank you. I recognized the name, but in context i also wondered if he was Neelix

- That e doing a lotta work I don’t think you want it doing- Damn you autocorrect! (For posterity, it said “sexiest”) - Stupid sexy Gygax

- Hey now, let’s not reduce him to his being a self-proclaimed “biological determinist” on gender. - He also quoted/referenced racists for his stances. (E.g. “Nits make lice” from Chivington, who killed Cheyenne people indiscriminately, gygaxed as a justification for why its lawfully good to kill orc babies https://www.reddit.com/r/DnD/comments/dtpgim/gygax_on_lawful_good/ ) - a justification for why its lawfully good to kill orc babies - It’s fantasy ethics, you can make up whatever you w… - “Nits make lice” from Chivington, - Except for that one

- Link? - It’s not exactly a secret. The man was openly and proudly sexist until the day he died. - I’m sure you can figure it out. - Ok then.

- Huh. Well, “Women can play D&D just as well, they just don’t like it as much. I don’t know how it could be made to appeal to women such that they would” is, technically sexist. - But considering the huge amount of spewed garbage we see daily from people in power, this seems like . . . I mean, I was expecting something crass or really vicious or something. - Also TIL Lionel made pastel trains to appeal to girls. 🤷♂️

- Idk. I give the cook points for bagging the cute alien with short hair. (Im drawing a complete blank on her name) - Kes - Thank you!
