    Fun fact: the study everyone cites on plastic in the brain almost certainly is overestimating it. Potentially by significant margins. The process they use to dissolve the organic matter can produce insoluble products (what they’re actually weighing as all plastic) from fat. What is a brain mostly comprised of? Fat.

      Yes, odds are almost all of it isn’t plastics. Everybody (capable of reading the paper) knows it, it wasn’t hidden. Still people keep repeating it as a fact, with absolute certainty.

        Most people are hearing from “news” sources that are saying it as fact with absolute certainty. Even this comic implies it is fact.

        That’s why it’s important to share the truth and not shame people for not knowing something they received a lot of misinformation about.
