The idea that consequences would be “coming soon” instead of seeing that the shutdown is already affecting people since day one just shows how disconnected the couch fucker (and the whole rightwinger mafia he is part of) is from reality.

The filibuster disproportionately benefits the GOP anyway. Their MO is status quo, prevent reform, do nothing, dismantle. They will always use it more. It’s why we have no public option for Medicare. And it’s been used excessively since Obama.

Voss continued: “What we ought to be watching is whether the Administration is trying to build up the sense of crisis to a fever pitch, as a prelude to Republicans ending the Senate filibuster. The public tends to dislike the filibuster rule, because it prevents majorities from getting their way quickly, but it’s one of the only remaining features of the American government that requires the parties to cooperate, which is something the public also claims to want. If Senate rules change so that the majority party can start passing legislation without compromise, that will have a lot more impact on American public policy than anything being debated right now.”

They would never dream of killing the filibuster unless they knew for sure that nobody but the GOP will ever have a majority ever again.

“We will keep hurting people until you submit” is the language of rapists and abusers.

Is it either people who are too dumb to hide the complete dominance of their overlords, or people who are aware that there is no need to hide anything because the game is completely and irreversibly over? Do I get two guesses? If I only get one then I’ll play it safe and say rapists.

Just as many people died in Sudan in the last two weeks as died in Gaza in the last two years.

How long will you be angry over things in the past while being deliberately ignorant of atrocities that are happening right now?

Called my senators yesterday. Told the R we were hurting and they needed to give in to the Democrats. Told the D I knew they were under pressure but we needed them to stand up for Medicaid, food stamps, ACA funds, etc.

“Consequences” sure sounds like the results one faces at the receiving end of extortion.

If only we had a system of rules that dictates whether or not someone should be allowed to do this…

Vote for Republicans, get “consequences”. Is “JD” “Vance” just saying FA, FO?

It’s too bad even those that cannot vote and didn’t vote for these assholes have to go through this, too.
