the people making art in those caves were basically modern humans. evolution happens over a very long timespan and homo sapiens has not been around for that long. even the other human species at that time would have been, within some margin, as smart as modern humans. to find a human ancestor that was only capable of the level of creativity ai bros show you would have to go back to before the appearance of homo sapiens (our species, btw) and likely several species before that. this means they dont even show so much as the bare minimum of creativity a human should be capable of.

Why dont the AI bros simply embrace that grindset they’re always talking about and learn to fucking draw. Art is a marketable skill unlike “prompt engineer”

What they mean when they say it made art “accessible”, is that now you can be utterly entirely talentless and produce trash. That, too, was true before AI.

What they mean is that you don’t have to pay an artist because “AI” has stolen, and can reproduce, their work for you.

“Damn Talent-Hoarders, hiding all that art behind a paywall if we need it for our startups. Now who’s laughing?!?!” - Totally mentally healthy techbros

True but the trash before AI mostly look like trash now it’s look like polished trash

Using AI and thinking you made art is like paying someone to draw something and telling people you made it

I think the art being more accessible argument points to the commodification of our culture.

Instead of thinking art as a medium of expression, some think of it as a product that has to meet a certain level of quality otherwise it’s worthless.

The ironic part is that generators don’t really produce quality, at least not to the trained eye.

AI fans want reward without any effort. Really distilled the nature of humanity into it, honestly. It takes effort and struggle to improve, shocking how many tech bros spend all their time trying to avoid both of those things but expecting the end result.

Is this arguing that the AI bro also has less intelligence? Because no one could be that stupid (a statement I used to make in jest, but recently I’ve been proven wrong watching certain political interviews)
