A woman is dead after being shot by a federal agent during an ICE operation Wednesday morning in south Minneapolis. U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem called the woman's actions leading up to the shooting "an act of domestic terrorism."
There’s no way to elaborate on this statement without admitting that there’s at least a two-tiered legal system in place, which is the point being made. Biden had the opportunity to prosecute but did not because there is an unwritten rule that we don’t do that to certain people. Saying they didn’t have enough time is just taking the long way to the conclusion that nothing was ever going to happen.
Unless maybe you’re aware of some law or rule that requires investigations and indictments of specific people to take much longer than normal?
He wasn’t even appointed to investigate by Merrick Garland until nearly 18 months after he took office, which was already 2 months after the Insurrection.
There was enough time if they hadn’t waited to decide whether to even bother with defending the country.
“Principled” is the wrong word. “Naive” might be better. “Cowardly” with rationalization could work.
They believed it would damage the country to have a jury of 12 put Trump in prison rather than a jury of 375 million. It would damage the country. The best possible outcome was Dems win the election and then Trump sees justice. Intolerance bring fascisms, so they fought fascism with tolerance. This is the result of their actions AND our actions.
It was convenient to pass the buck onto the American voters because it meant they didn’t have to do anything.
Judge Harris clearly had the authority to, uhh… Um. Well stop bringing reason to the conversation. Biden should have just acted like a dictator so we didn’t have a dictatorship!.. Wait ugh why doesn’t any of this work?
Looking at responses to this makes me feel we should start making pro dictatorship pro democracy tallys. Right now we have sh.itjust.works falling just behind lemmy.org as being the largest supporters of dictatorship. With 0% of lemmy.org so far believing the president of the United States legally cannot convict someone of crimes.
Yes, Biden or Harris being in office now would protect us from US colonialism turning inward.
But that wouldn’t stop the US’s foreign policy.
I’m not saying that Biden or Harris would have entered a war with Venezuela or bombed Iran, but maybe Israel would have become more of an attack dog in the Middle East and started killing more Syrians, Lebanese, Jordanians, and last but not least Palestinians.
Hard to say what would happen internationally with Biden or Harris. Domestically, we’d likely be in a better spot, at least until Trump would try to take office in 2028 (if we didn’t throw his ass in jail by that point).
maybe Israel would have become more of an attack dog in the Middle East and started killing more Syrians, Lebanese, Jordanians, and last but not least Palestinians.
Can you give a few examples of reasonably specific outcomes under these domains that occured under Trump and how you feel they would have played out in a worse way under Kamala instead?
Hey, um… Random question. How many ICE deportations were there under president Biden? And just for shits n giggles, were there any deaths in ICE custody under Biden?
No one yet has complete and reliable data for the number of ICE and other deportations in 2025. But there has been an analysis of ICE flight data that showed a 62% increase in the number of deportations-related flights in 2025 compared to 2024, as of September:
Since you are confident of your analysis showing the opposite, please provide your sources and numbers instead of telling people to do their own research.
I did provide the source, literally the one used by your sources. Which even show that there were way less in ‘24 compared to previous years, then shot up again. This is done by both R and D on many instances BTW to look better in comparison. So when you see a comparison between a president’s first year, to previous’ last, look at other years.
The source you linked to (https://www.ice.gov/statistics) only has data up to December 2024, when Biden was still President. The sources I linked to had data from 2025. The small numbers for 2025 in your link are for Fiscal Year 2025, ending in December 2024, so despite the name FY2025, that’s really just the last 3 months of 2024.
So those statistics contain no information about what ICE has been doing since January 2025 when Trump returned.
When looking at one of the charts you provided, would it be fair to assume that it was like 300 deportations per day in 2024? That would be like twice as many ICE deportations as what I’m seeing in the ICE website.
Wait until I tell you that AOC also voted to increase police funding, that Obama was the Deporter in Chief, had a War on Whistleblowers, killed a family member of a terrorist (son), and increased drone strikes like a 1000%.
You’re right, they did receive a massive funding boost. I don’t think that’s the police funding increase I was talking about regarding AOC though. I don’t know how many brownshirts were in ICE under Biden & Trump though, so I can’t speculate. But yes, deportations did go down, and it wasn’t just cause they included the numbers that were turning away at the border though, but actually taken from American soil, and deported elsewhere.
There’s a link by me somewhere in this post. Only compares Biden years, and trumps first though. Was too lazy to find other ones other than random charts on reddit.
It has no data for calendar year 2025. The part labeled FY2025 is the first 3 months of fiscal year 2025, which are the last 3 months of calendar year 2024. You have misunderstood the data.
You realize that Trump took office in January of 2025, right? That’s not a year. It literally has not been updated since Trump took office. Have you tried reading?
This is another person who would be alive if Biden or Harris was in power right now.
But neither of them were principled enough to convict Trump for Jan 6th.
Americans voted him back in before Jack Smith could charge him.
Four fucking years they had to bring that case.
And Americans voted him back in again undoing all the work everyone did on the case.
Go commit any crime on camera and see if it takes them 4 years to charge you with it.
I’m not president.
Nor do you have dozens, to potentially thousands of people all willing to throw themselves into a hail of bullets to keep you out of jail.
I mean, I’m just assuming you don’t.

I’ve never tried to show there isn’t a two-tiered legal system.
He wasn’t even appointed to investigate by Merrick Garland until nearly 18 months after he took office, which was already 2 months after the Insurrection.
There was enough time if they hadn’t waited to decide whether to even bother with defending the country.
How else are they gonna use it to coerce votes out of people who don’t like them? They can’t possibly do anything until an election is imminent.
I have to say, I have my doubts about that.
lmfao i bet you have a personal signed copy of The Mueller Report
Three digit limited run buddy.

Yes. It was their principles that were the issue; not that it was completely out of the scope of their power.
Judge Harris clearly had the authority to, uhh… Um. Well stop bringing reason to the conversation. Biden should have just acted like a dictator so we didn’t have a dictatorship!.. Wait ugh why doesn’t any of this work?

There would be a lot less children with AIDS in Africa too.
Based on what?
Based on their actions in 2023, 2024, 2025, and the last 80 years
That’s… extremely vague.
Can you give a few examples of reasonably specific outcomes under these domains that occured under Trump and how you feel they would have played out in a worse way under Kamala instead?
Nah. Don’t have time
I don’t have time, that’s why I’m taking the time to tell you that I don’t have time
- you
Or substance.
Hey, um… Random question. How many ICE deportations were there under president Biden? And just for shits n giggles, were there any deaths in ICE custody under Biden?
Less than now.
Less than now.
Deaths, yes. Not by much though. There were more ICE deportations though. That tells me you didn’t actually look into it.

The ICE arrest data also shows a steep rise in 2025:

Since you are confident of your analysis showing the opposite, please provide your sources and numbers instead of telling people to do their own research.
The best they’ve got are stats from before Trump was president, and they’re “too lazy” to keep looking.
I did provide the source, literally the one used by your sources. Which even show that there were way less in ‘24 compared to previous years, then shot up again. How did you arrive at that 300 number…?
You’re telling me that ICE received a massive funding boost and a ton of new brownshirts but deportations went down?
The disparity is because 4yrs vs 1. It’s less under Biden year over year.
Wait until I tell you that AOC also voted to increase police funding, that Obama was the Deporter in Chief, had a War on Whistleblowers, killed a family member of a terrorist (son), and increased drone strikes like a 1000%.
You’re telling me that ICE received a massive funding boost and a ton of new brownshirts but deportations went down?
Maybe answer this first before you throw more shit around.
Maybe. Biden and Obama deported everyone who needed deporting in an attempt to please the Republican voter.
There weren’t many problems left to validly deport.
It’s why they started raiding workplaces and schools. Any actual problems were already solved.
You’re right, they did receive a massive funding boost. I don’t think that’s the police funding increase I was talking about regarding AOC though. BoTh sIdEs
And I’m sure that you can provide a year over year source of those claims you are making, right?
I can’t find a source that says that’s true. Got one handy?
Edit: Nope, just downvotes, apparently.
From bots too, nice.
There’s a link by me somewhere in this post. Only compares Biden years, and trumps first though. Was too lazy to find other ones other than random charts on reddit.
So, you’ve got nothing to back up your bold claim? I’m shocked. You do know that Trump wasn’t president in 2024, right?
I literally linked the ICE website that compares Biden years, and Trumps first year, 2025. Where did I say trump was president in '24?

Man you’re right Harris wouldn’t have given us a perfect utopian society so it’s actually good we got Trump instead
