Your definition of neoliberal must be different from mine, and your focus. The establishment has to go, they are controlled opposition, whose reason for being is preventing popular reform, in a country that chooses leaders based on popular elections.
You say the country realizes it, but they don’t, quite the opposite, the same people are in charge, currently passing the buck blaming everyone else for their loss, waiting to nominate a highborne aristocratic newsom to run as not the other guy for the status quo.
Now many of those defending the establishment are influence accounts, even on lemmy, the right wing amongst them, they manipulate us into candidates that they can win obviously. But a great many are real, it fools a lot of real people. Vote totals on mentions here on lemmy favor the establishment is doing the best they can and it’s everyone else’s fault side.
“The establishment” no longer controls the party, they only hold onto the minority leadership positions because those were voted on weeks before DNC chair. They were lame ducks this entire session, but because Martin is already making it rain (at literally unprecedented levels) on state parties, “the establishment” can’t threaten to cut off funding if reps don’t vote for their picks in leadership.
Like, do you understand that?
Because it really seems like you don’t.
The people trying to manipulate potential Dem voters on behalf of the oligarchs are the ones trying to convince people to tune out of Dem primaries. If a neoliberal wins their tune will switch, if not they’ll push third party so they can retake the DNC by showing a progressive can’t win.
Like, I’m honestly trying to explain this but it truly sounds like you’ve already fallen for their propaganda…
Is that why they nominated kamala, anointed, with 4 plus months and she didn’t get a single challenge? You can make (factually incorrect as I’ve seen,) semantic arguments about the definition of establishment and neoliberal, but the fact of the matter is, the party pushes for candidates that no one likes, that aren’t trying to do anything popular.
Why Biden and Hillary were such hits? I’m sure you consider Biden a great success too. You truly are helping the republicans pretending these democrats are acceptable. It’s also pathetic as they have nothing but contempt for you.
Denying the democratic party nominated kamala, brilliant take. Arguing the semantics of nominated, establishment, neoliberal, and true to American form, of they.
It’s sad you are probably a real person and fervently think you are smarter than everyone telling us we need popular opposition. Still believing those ivy league suits that have brought us three failed presidential candidates in a row, surely you will consider Biden a great success that goes without saying.
Unlike the democratic establishment, I have enough respect for you to tell you the truth. Turns out that respect was misplaced, but no one can say I didn’t try. Enjoy.
Denying the democratic party nominated kamala, brilliant take
The DNC chair is all powerful and accountable to no one.
Right? That’s how they were able to fuck over Bernie in 2016, shove Biden down our throats in 2020, and then just handed it to Kamala in 2024.
The voting members of the DNC didn’t pick the last chair. When a dem wins they pick the chair. It was a never ending circle of neoliberals propping each other up.
In 2021, weeks after Schumer and Jeffries won their leadership positions for this session, the 400+ voting members of the DNC broke the cycle and didn’t elect a corrupt neoliberal. They elected the state chair of Minnesota for the past decade who took it from battleground to one of the most progressive in the nation simply by keeping party influence out of primaries.
Like, I keep explaining this, and you’re basically just plugging your ears and pretending I didn’t just type it.
These democrats can’t win, that’s the point. Even if they were fit for the moment, they clearly aren’t. They aren’t popular, aren’t trying to be popular. They run as status quo, empty platitudes, offering not being the other guy, that’s it. Oh maybe throw some crumbs to the deserving fucked, but never addressing the causes of people getting fucked.
It’s not hard to understand, it’s amazing how some suits on tv have you guys in thrall even now. Those ivy league experts tell you they are the safe choice, and you still believe them, with all due respect it’s a baaaaaa’d take.
If they win, they do nothing with it as we saw in 2021, and hand it back. Things kept going to shit under their watch too, nothing got better overall. The last time they offered popular reform was 2008, and that weak candidate that failed to deliver only did that by trouncing the establishment that tried to force Hillary to offer nothing. But he made a deal to help hand it to hillary the next time, total failure as a president but that’s another story. He offered popular reform, so he could win, that’s the point.

Who is “they”?
The DNC chair the voting members of the DNC tossed to the curb for that shit?
What does their failings months before Martin took over have to do with Martin?
None of what you’re saying makes logical sense man…
This is literally what I’m talking about, how am I supposed to believe you don’t understand the linear concept of time?

Are you even reading this?
You are too delusional to speak with further.
You say
You mean
Win primaries, sure. But the Republicans are the first and main problem.
