Curious on the usage statistics.
Should I make a full survey asking about granularity so that app devs can see what to focus on?
Voyager
Same here. I was sold the moment I read that the UI is based on Apollo.
Thunder is cross-platform, not just Android. It’s my primary app for mobile on IOS.
I find that to be quite buggy regarding the inbox. Some funky UI stuff happening with it on Android for me.
Summit on top!
We need to form a Sync support group…
Hehe yeah, I know it’s slowly losing functionality… but I think I’m gonna ride this horse until just before it goes over a cliff. I just really like the presentation I’ve dialed in. I tried all the other apps and can’t get anything that feels like me.
When I first came here, I grabbed every app, and put a few hours into each, and it was no contest. Sync hands down had the best UI configuration for me. There were multiple sticking points on each other app that were just deal breakers.
I have tried them all again recently, and still didn’t find anything else I liked.
I haven’t looked into why sync doesn’t get updates anymore, hoping it’s not guaranteed permanent… afraid to look.
Same. I ditched Sync only very recently after I realized there hasn’t been a release for a long time. Development seems to have halted.
I was using it for years on Reddit as well. Definitely the smoothest app or there, even better than Boost.
Now I am using Voyager, after giving basically every other app a try. Always some minor thing that didn’t work quite fully as expected. Even Voyager has some works, but overall works well.
But yeah, really wish Sync would stay in the game.
I could have written this comment.
I thought that was dead?
I used the hell out of that Android app on r***** and lemmy, but the dev disappeared around the time I had to leave lemm.ee so I just use a web browser now with piefed.social. :|
It’s a little broken, yes
I don’t use said client, but [email protected].
EDIT: Oh, wait, you already post there.
Jerboa Android gang
Yep. Started here, and will never change because it doesn’t matter.
Thunder has been fantastic for me so far
Eternity gang
Hello,
I filled the form, but just realized I should have checked “default interface” as well, now it’s too late, anyway
I just wanted to say that I still use the default interface for Piefed because as far as I know feeds aren’t supported by any app/frontend yet. I’ll probably switch to the first one that does
Interstellar also supports feeds. Under the explore tab you can browse and view them. Unfortunately there’s no search yet so you have to scroll through them all to find specific ones.
But if you go to settings -> feeds you can save them for quick access. Then they’ll be available in the navigation drawer on the main page.
Thank you !
Blorp has feeds, welp
I haven’t tested the PieFed specific features as much as I should, but I think feeds are slightly different. I need to add support for feeds / topics. I’m also working on support for polls. Stay tuned
cool!
Photon supports feeds! unfortunately there’s not much in the API yet other than just listing and viewing them, so you can’t subscribe or otherwise
I just checked, indeed the API at the moment only returns the public list of feeds.
@[email protected] do you know when you’ll have time to add endpoints to get a user’s personal and subscribed public feeds?
Wait you do? I didn’t know!
Ah, I see, I usually look at https://piefed.social/community/fediverse/wiki/piefed-app and front ends aren’t there!
Blorp
I use Mbin and Interstellar
No love for Raccoon?
Is raccoon still being developed? The last commit that isn’t a dependency bump was 3 months ago and the last release was 8 months ago. I’m still using it for now because I like the UI but I feel like a lot of the formatting is kind of jank
The dev was shortly active on Matrix a few weeks ago. And I think the Friendica app is getting more love at the moment.
But I agree, it feels abandoned at the moment.
PieFed: Default Web UI on desktop, Interstellar on Android.
Lemmy: Default Web UI on desktop, Eternity on Android.
A web browser.
Eternity
Firefox. On mobile piefed still looks great.
