The mayor’s response was perfect. “ICE, get the fuck out of Minneapolis.”

That should be the response everywhere. Get the fuck out, you’re not welcome here.

I don’t understand how this is considered a good response. They’re just words, the terrorists are still there, and will murder again.

The correct response by the local or state governments would be to arrest them, and put them on trial, together with the federal government for having sent them (and the state government for allowing it in the case of the city).

Anything short of that is collaboration.

Note that ICE presence in Minneapolis alone was/is about three times the entire Minneapolis police department. They are tremendously outnumbered. Which is just insane.

From what I’ve read it’s apparently very complex and not straightforward for a state to arrest or criminally charge a federal officer for something that occurs on duty because of previous precedent from supreme court cases.

Tbh I have no doubt the state AG and many lawyers are trying to figure out what can be done and ideally won’t lead to some sort of civil war because tbh everything with Trump is on the table and we have no clue what the future holds.

He pulled the oldest trick in the book where you purposely escalate and put yourself in danger to justify lethal force. They could have all just kept their distance and nobody would have died.

Yeah that ICE agent could easily step out of the way. Clear case of just wanted to murder her for trying to flee her own danger

He did step out of the way. He did not in any way stop the movement of the vehicle.

He wasn’t in any danger. Cold-blooded murder. Anyone without a “badge” would be charged and sent to prison.

They will be sued, and lose. We (taxpayers who already pay taxes on toilet paper, et al) will be gracious enough to pay for the lawsuit ourselves, of course. No need for them or their pension to pay!

Also, they need a raise and more tanks, lots of tanks.

Remember he needs to be able to declare state of emergency so he can cancel elections.

He’ll do it regardless. Half of what he’s done was already illegal. More of what he’ll do will be illegal. He doesn’t care as long as nobody stops him.

Elections are a state managed process. If he “cancelled” the election, the Blue states could go ahead and have elections anyway. Then when a bunch of new blue congressional reps show up on DC, Trump has to claim they’re illegitimate.

True, but he needs to declare a state of emergency for more than just that.

People - esp in US - need to read up on Hitler’s timeline.

Things will go very fast now. By the end of the year he will have abolished the democratic party as a domestic terrorist organisation.

The complete lack of any pushback on him breaking his own Epstein law and him kidnapping a foreign head of state will only fuel him up more.

I’m sure the cop will get away with it as the car was going in his direction. But he has SO much time to get out of the way. His first instinct is as to murder her.

At some point ICE is going to find out not only conservative white men are armed. And to be honest, whatever happens when they do, they’ll deserve it.
