A person was shot by a federal law enforcement officer in Minneapolis on Wednesday evening after resisting arrest and “violently assaulting” an officer, the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement, as the city is still reeling in the aftermath of last week’s fatal shooting of Renee Good by an ICE agent.

Just a friendly reminder that resisting arrest is not a reason to arrest somebody. That charge comes second, not first, and if that is the first charge then the police deserve any and all harm that befall them.

Citizens should legally be able to defend themselves with violence if they are being arrested or assaulted for resisting arrest.

I don’t mean to sound divisive, but it really seems like only one of these groups is consistently doing the shooting.

These are probably those “defensive shots” that hit people in the back. Law enforcement can bend the laws of physics with their reports and testimonies.

but if this is true and someone attacked a cop, being shot in the leg doesn’t seem like an unfair response

      I think that’s the crux of it…

What’s the chance of a federal officer involved shooting where they show a reasonable reaction?

Like, it’s not exactly common, and even when obvious murder they immediately claim it was defensive.

It’s “boy who called wolf”, no one is going to believe them. Even if there’s video of a guy charging ICE, to say they’re not at fault in anyway is stripping all context from the situation.

I don’t believe a single fucking word — and that’s an earned reputation.

        Fucking brown shirts.

A snow shovel is an unwieldy piece of plastic on the end of a stick, not a deadly weapon. The only useful technique I can think of is as a shoving bar. And you think the Delta-force cosplayers should naturally escalate to gunfire.

Which was definitely not applied to the leg during a melee by an expert marksman like a video game. The leg is just what happened to be hit, and since the reports were of multiple shots, who knows where the other ones went in this residential neighborhood.

You know the reality was he was shoveling the snow minding his own business when Jack booted thugs ran up on him and accidentally discharged their weapon while slipping on a patch of ice.

We’re all domestic terrorists these days…
