Yeah maybe i was at bit blunt with that, but you get the point.
We can agree the US is not on good standing anymore and the biparty system is like choosing between douche and turd, but there’s nothing manufactured on democratically elected officials. The people get what it wants.
In autocracy you are also a slave to your dictator and what If he decides that tomorrow you’re all wiccans? There goes your religion.
In theory the West is full of democracies and I don’t see a lot of freedom, only when freedom means walking the party line. People get shot in the face by a weird secret police group in America and nothing happens besides the government praising the murderer, the dude has a gofundme! In the UK grandmas against genocide get arrested for protesting, I’m not kidding. Idk man. And nobody can decide you’re something the next day, that’s not how belief works, it just means now you gotta pretend or die. 🤷😔
Yeah that is because US is turning into an autocracy where President is actively against some of his people. The way he uses government forces is very reminiscent of Russia, Belarus, Iran, China. UK also has very authoritan movement labeling grandmas terrorist, restricting Internet content, hopefully they come to their senses. That kind of leaves Europe which of course also has it’s issues, but at least the free and democratic elections being the main point.
Yeah pretending or dying doesn’t sound so good when you could just live and let live.
I think the problem is indigenous to our region and remains, it’s an ideological vacuum, a vacuum of morals that are both self evident and bigger than our whims and perspectives, we’re just subjugated people so we don’t lash out the way Americans do, the “morality” of the weak… Maybe in that subjugation, the Western European mentality has shifted enough to enter a non-imperialistic era in the future after seeing American decay, hopefully.
