Much has been written about AI butchering our favorite movies, but how is it affecting the U.S. healthcare system? Well, it’s a polarizing and controversial subject, and this storyline in “The Pitt” season 2 reflects what’s happening in some real-world medical institutions.

The fear is that it will make the doctors more efficient, especially with things like charting, but then will that time go back to the patients or will they just have to see more patients?

This, along with the errors the AI is prone to make, are the main concerns I have with AI usage in the healthcare industry.

If they’re able to streamline the AI usage into a process that doesn’t allow (or minimizes) errors, I’m ok with that, but usually the higher ups (who can be very distant from the medical practice) decide when to use AI or not, and they mostly fail because they do not live the routines of those who will use the tool.
