    Also, if you corner the market for long enough. The job of radiologist becomes obsolete, and then you can turn around to the people that are paying you the $10m per year and say, “Oh look, you’ve got nowhere else to turn. We want $18m or we stop providing support.”

    Their end goal isn’t Star Trek, with money obsolete, their end goal is all the money.

        “All the money” I guess was a bit of an absolutist term, but their end goal is to break the link between the working class and the means of production, which is where the power of that class lies. If that were to be removed, piece by piece, creeping as it appears to do without any real pushback from governments, then either we would be subject to the whims of people that have proven themselves to be untrustworthy and uncaring, or it would have to be snatched back by way of revolting luddites.
