I want money for some reason, not sure why but i just do, i guess just in case something were to happen.

Ive tried surveys and various gpt sites as they are called, but havent had luck yet, and i find them to usually be annoying more than anything.

Im at home alot because i cant drive and the job market is overcrowded in my area, not like i could handle a job anyway.

What would you advise i try or look into, and why so? Im not sure if i should post this here or somewhere else?

I did a side hustle of training as a therapist one day per week.

Now I do that from home four days per week.

COVID was great for convincing people online therapy can work!

Do you live in suburbs, rurual or in an urban area?

One thing you could do is get a volunteer position, maybe just one or two shifts a week, and then use that to help pivot into a paid job.

Not really what you’re asking for, but do you have any hobbies? It sounds more like you’re bored than anything else. There are plenty of ways to engage your time that are far more fulfilling than watching number go up.

Honestly there’s hobbies that could also make number go up. I took up blacksmithing with the full intent to make money doing it. I still haven’t, but I’m having fun lol

That’s a fair point. I personally have found that trying to monetize my hobbies also sucks the joy out of them, but I’m coming from a point of privilege in that I make a decent salary and can afford to have leisure time without focusing on my income.

The nice thing about hobbies is there’s usually people passionate about it willing to help curious people try it to see if they like it.

Without knowing the people but just asking politely, for the cost of gas and a couple hours of my time I’ve gotten to try for free (in no particular order): Archery, Dungeons and dragons, Skeet shooting, Canoeing, Three day camping/hiking, Fishing, Knitting, Woodcarving, Drums, Guitar, Model Rockets, Model Trains, Slot Cars, Racing RC Cars, Home Brewing (okay $10 for ingredients), and more.

You can try hobbies without knowing what you like. Find a local group who does what you’re interested in and just ask.

If there’s something that interests you, you should try it! I know it sounds cheesy, but Wayne Gretzky was spot on when he said you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.

If I hadn’t tried out 3D printing on a whim, it never would have become one of my primary interests. In the same vein, I never would have gotten into electronics design, started brewing my own beer, gone to a punk rock show, got back into reading fantasy, or met my partner.

my attention span can never do these.

someone has to near-literally force my hand into learning anything for me to do so, and even then I’ll get put on academic probation from a for-profit now-defunct arts college.

Treat it like a menu not a curriculum and it can help you build a hobby and learn as well. Just learn what you want. Then when you get stuck due to a gap in knowledge you’ll be more interested in learning the solution.

Start with a python script to scrape the weather or some news that interests you and turn that into an rss feed. Or anything really.

          Thanks for the encouragement.

Right now I’m trying to make an online shop for a friend’s hobby, and did some web stuff when I was a teen, but I always get hung up on php/mysql stuff.

It doesn’t help I’m a minimalist cheapskate and am trying to use the bare minimum to set her up (namely nearlyfreespeech hosting— which doesn’t hold your hand; and drupal). I’ll get far enough and hit a roadblock, step away, then come back and forget where I was and just start over.

            https://deepwiki.com/drupal/drupal

It’s a RAG that will only answer questions about the selected repo (drupal in this case) less likely to hallucinate as it’ll only pull from the github docs, but it can still hallucinate. Also uses less resources as it’s not searching all known training data.

It is still an LLM though so if you don’t like any “AI” I wouldn’t use it.

Yes there are things you’ll can do from home. Many of the news outlets have staff writer positions you can get. Basically you get information from multiple sources on a subject and write something about it.

You could write a book. You could sell stuff you have sitting around and eventually buy Amazon return pallets locally (many areas have Facebook marketplace pages so just for this.) You could live stream gaming and see if you build an audience and get some Patreon subscribers. You could do freelance graphic art stuff. You could learn to knit, crochet, or sew and sell stuff you make. You could make yard ornaments or decor, custom footpath pavers, or fountains. You could build dog houses. You could offer to watch security cameras for the neighborhood for a small fee. You could get miniatures and start setting up little scenes that you photograph and offer for sale on Etsy. You could design shirts and offer them for sale online through Etsy.

Having autism doesn’t mean you can’t do anything but sit around. You may need a little help finding a niche or develop some skills but IMHO there are very few cases where a person can’t do anything at all to make a little bit of money.

Do you have transportation? Can you sell stuff locally? Do you have space to store things? Are you physically able-bodied?

Automate alibaba dropships for amazon and Etsy. Should still be tutorials floating around, it’s more saturated nowadays so there’s more time sink needed to find niche items.

The world has enough people selling garbage, shipped across the world to end up in a landfill or the ocean. No thanks
