I’m on iphone
yt-dlp
can download playlists. My experience has been that if you download absolutely massive amounts, Google will ban your IP for anonymous access for some weeks.
You can also try Pinchflat, Its a web front end for yt-dlp, super easy to install ASA docker container.
pinchflat can also subscribe to a user and auto dl new videos
I guess you can still use it on the phone with termux.
How does this avoid the ban risk?
I don’t think it does.
If you’re using mobile data rather than WiFi off a home network, I suppose.
I don’t see how that would help. Your device is still connecting to YouTube. It can still be banned.
I don’t think it does.
You can use your browser cookies to circumvent the ban
I avoid getting Google accounts; if I don’t sign in, no cookies.
Switch to an Android device (Where you can use Seal from F-Droid) or Linux (Where you can use Parabolic), copy the link of the playlist into the app, hit download.
Actually went with a-shell and yt-dlp, works like a charm
So glad you found a working solution! To be honest, I’m a bit surprised iOS allows terminal apps 🤣 But in a good way
Probably good for Apple’s engineers to have that tool for personal and work stuff so I’m glad they figured it out.
Same with emulators, thats pretty recent to
Why are people downvoting you?
Edit: I guess it’s because you offered an impractical solution.
“I’m on iphone” means you don’t have a lot of options. You can get youtube premium and just use their download feature.
Youtube Premium also includes Youtube Music, which allows downloading music-specific playlists for offline listening, but you’re stuck playing them in the Youtube Music app, AFAIK.
How to do on macOS?
