    What is this?

They need to stay in DC to vote against extending the temporary resolution to shutdown the government over this.

Dafuq are they supposed to do in Minnesota? Talk?

Right? This is a 14yo’s version of what they need to be doing. They don’t need to be walking in the street, they need to be impeaching and removing every part of this administration. Voting on bills to end this horror, not be physically present where they have little power.

They seem to be doing neither. Being in Minnesota would be about optics and creating awareness. They wouldn’t stay long. However they would then continue to talk about it when they return to DC and to their home districts.

        Edit:spellcheck broke a word

Most of them. There are a few that actually seem to be working and it must be so frustrating for those that actually care.

But i would rather they stay in DC and actually use their legislative power than show up for the papers and then do nothing. Though i suppose showing up would still be better than doing neither.

Because of all the people who don’t know about that yet? Everyone knows and has an opinion already. Who actually listens to Congress people speak?

Raising awareness is what leftists call retweeting, so they can pretend they actually do something. I hate that phrase.

Well, no. Raising awareness has changed sentiment and now they are pulling back. They are scaring voters and their propaganda is failing.

      Agreed.

The only way this ends is to surround the White House with 100s of armed people. And demand he steps down for violating his oath of office. Occupy Washington. Setup supply lines with hot food and drinks. Bunker down.

This is civil war whether you like it or not. He won’t stop until you stop him with force. Follow the same ROE as the Black Panthers. Use 2A to enforce your other rights. We outnumber them by a lot.

Keep yelling the same line over loudspeakers non stop: “Your oath is to the Constitution not Trump.”

They voted for it. If they’re so upset it’s happening, they can get on the streets with their victims.

      Democrats can do both.

      According to https://www.congress.gov/crs-product/98-988:

The Constitution requires that a quorum, defined as a majority of the House, be present on the floor when the House transacts business. The House, however, always presumes that a quorum is present unless and until its absence is demonstrated conclusively. The rules of the House strictly limit the occasions on which a Representative may make a point of order that a quorum is not present. In current practice, Members usually make such a point of order only when a vote is taking place. If a majority of the Members fails to respond to a quorum call or participate in an electronically recorded vote conducted in the House, the House must adjourn or take steps necessary to secure the attendance of enough Members to constitute a quorum.

Since the House is always in quorum and Republicans have the majority, the House will always be in quorum. However, not all of the Democrats needs to be in DC. Some of the Democrats can tear gassed with the protestors, show solidarity, build awareness, etc by being on the ground.

To filibuster in the Senate, all you have to do is send an email saying you plan to filibuster. There’s no need to be in DC to filibuster.

quorum is, last i checked, a simple majority. republicans have that, sending all the democrats to minnesota fails their job in DC. You are correct.

Get them all together in one place outside of DC? Why so Trump can tell his gestapo to open fire?
