You would think someone would have thought to encase two shells in like a cage in headphones so you can listen to the ocean while you sleep. It’s like a sound machine, but no battery required.

It’s brilliant and probably doable diy at no cost, but only if you sleep on your back and don’t toss and turn. Which, maybe you won’t, because sublime sleep. Or you could wait for the $500 Sharper Image version from an airplane seatback magazine

This is genuinely one of the most left-field shower thoughts I’ve come across. So often I can relate to these posts - I read it and think… “yeah, I see that”. This one truly has me going “huh… wtf”.

Well done bud, this is terrific.

I feel like they might be a bit uncomfy laying down, tho you do only need one more shell if you need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night…

With all due respect, you would think people would not be able to sleep with seashells attached to their heads.
Plus does those sea sounds last for that long, I really do not know.

As a thinker outside the box, but better at effects of my thoughts on users- Awesome, thinking outside the box, keep it up, but do a better job on your ideas effects on the users. With that said better for people’s hearing, then those ear buds.

No, that would be the opposite. The noise captured and muddled in the shell is what gives the effect of hearing the ocean. Lose your ears and you remove some of that echo chamber.

But, shells are sharp and wearing them that way is going to slice your ears off, anyway.

Shells have edges, but I’ve never seen one that’s sharp. I think this shower thought more implies the shells are stored off you face and there’s a buffer between skin and shell, butt one could also get shells large enough to go over the ear.

The shells may not have inherently sharp edges, but if they’re big enough to fit over your ears, and weren’t caged in some convoluted way, if you rolled over and broke them, then you might have some sharp problems.

OP wants powerless ocean sounds like what shells do when you put them to your ear. You know this is the intent because it was clearly stated in the post. You chose to be snarky anyways. Classic reddit commenter mindset
