This implies there is an advanced microwave book somewhere.
Have you ever pressed the power level button? Using it is a fairly advanced technique.
Super useful if the food package tells you what wattage the time is meant for. I have a 1300 watt microwave. Most things are designed for an 1100 watt microwave. I cook them at full power to their specified times, it burns. I set the power to 85%, it’s perfect.
Look! Look, everyone! We got one here who reads manuals!
Smh what about automatics?
Hurts my brain the way those shove words in against my will.
I usually use 30-50% power when I have to use a microwave at work to reheat leftovers
Takes longer but it comes out more evenly heated and less rubbery.
I usually use 100% when I’m cooking my fish and onion work casseroles though.

As a kid, I was really confused about how a ‘microwave’ power plant (SimCity 2K) could turn microwaves into energy. I mean, they use energy, so like, do they produce more than they use? Is that how my food is cooked? Why isn’t everyone doing this? We could be generating power and cooking food at the same time! And why is it also a satellite? Can it get satellite TV?! This thing is so multi-purpose it’s unbelievable!
Yup. It involves the buttons that aren’t start or stop.
So the Popcorn button?
Look at Mr Rothschild here with a popcorn button.
With my pleb microwave I have to press the start button a whooping 5 times for the ideal time.

There are many cake recipes for the microwave, it’s actually easier than one might think. And most of them are pretty damned good, if you get the heating to be even. You can even get a good crust with some tricks.
Once upon a time people got really creative using microwaves to cook food. You’d be amazed at some of the truly delicious stuff you can cook using a microwave.
Turning the power down and increasing the time is the real secret to microwaving. Keeps the food from hotspotting
If I can bake a cake using a 60watt lightbulb in an EZ Bake Oven, I can bake one in a microwave. Heat is heat.
warming a cake with a microwave makes it legit good
Microwaving can get pretty complex, the reason most microwaved food tastes like shit is because people think you can just toss it in and start cooking, even though that works with literally nothing else.
I always put my stove burner on high.
That’s fine, Just don’t put a pan on it, it takes to long.
It’s just flashed and turned off. I should note it’s induction.
I’ve had people look at me like I have two heads because I reheated my meal on half power. Yeah, a lot of people don’t know wtf they’re doing.
Haaaaa! My daughter has this as her background on her iPad. It was at her school and she thought it was hilarious.
It was that era when so many book covers had a design sensibility that implied everyone must be tripping.
Will this book help me cope with my senility?
I used to own that book. It was thrown out a long time ago.
