Oh God can we not just call everything we dislike AI? This isn’t AI. Look at the street view pics. And her hand makes sense - just zoom in on it. She’s clutching the sign with her thumb in front and four fingers behind, probably because that’s how she was carrying it before raising it. The wall is constantly being repainted, the door looks exactly like that. The line on the cardboard is due to the seam in the cardboard - haven’t you ever written on cardboard before? Are you kidding me? We KNOW people out there support ICE. You think an ICE worker sat around to make this image? If you want to accuse them of faking this, you’d have an easier time saying they just sent their own employee out there to hold the sign up.

Fuck, it looks like the average /pol/ thread in here. I remember when they were looking at stills from the Charlie Kirk assassination video and saying that his ring switched hands and that it’s proof that it’s AI generated and he’s actually still out there alive somewhere. Be better than that. Get your heads out of your asses, and remember: the more you WANT something to be true, the more wary you should be to believe evidence of it, because you’re biased.

We know that there are people who do support ICE, but those people can’t spell the word appreciate.

You know image AI inpainting exists right? I mean, you’re probably correct, but you could absolutely take a real protester and just…change the text on their sign. Hell, you don’t even need AI to use photoshop.

Also, hands don’t mean shit anymore. AI has mastered hands and legible text.

Yeah, this shot looks a little odd, but I don’t see any hallmarks of AI generation here. Honestly, I think it’s just heavy zoom on a phone with automatic postprocessing. Wouldn’t be surprised if this was what 10 or 20x zoom looks like on some Android phone, with the weird smoothing around her leg and some other details like it.

All the details you’ve mentioned that people are calling out aren’t really the kind of thing AI does at all, people now just assume anything that looks odd is AI, which uh… yeah, makes sense, say hello to one of the obvious consequences of AI image generation. Wish us luck over the next decade 😬

It could be a mix. It’s hard to tell for sure, but the text on the sign really looks like other AI-generated text I’ve seen. It’s really easy to take an existing photo, select an area and type in a prompt that will only affect that area, so the door being real or whatever doesn’t mean much

I think it’s more that she’s fucking tiny compared to the door and the wood in the back just ends behind her somewhere with no reason for it to. AI

Sure there are dummies who support ICE, but this isn’t one of them because this person doesn’t exist

Who fucking cares? It’s propaganda, so you fight it with more propaganda.

It’s about time that Dems showed up to the party with a six pack of beer, ready to play cards, instead of just threatening to call the cops.

Them reposting it definitely constitutes propaganda, but I think it’s important not to just call it AI when it isn’t. And anyways, the best propaganda isn’t blatant falsehoods. Everyone working themselves up into a furor thinking that this is AI just makes us look like a bunch of morons who will believe anything that suits their worldviews. Isn’t that exactly what we supposedly look down on the other side for? Or is it okay to embrace all their values and techniques, until both sides just become mirror images of each other?

Truth is a critically important thing. We must never put truth to the side in favor of merely feeling right. When you put your wishes and feelings over truth, that creates the cracks by which a movement becomes corrupted and deranged.
