Specifically for iOS. IMO the in browser experience is perfectly serviceable, if a bit clunky. I’m also new to this platform so in time I’ll know how to work with it. But I’m also a bit of a luddite and I have fat sausage fingers…
Voyager
Voyager for me. It’s a direct copy of Apollo for Reddit, which was an excellent app before the bastards at Reddit made it die.
Boost all the way, baby!
It was my favourite Reddit client, and now it’s back as brilliant as ever for Lemmy too, no need to try to get used to a new app that does things weirdly or not how I like it ♥️
I just tried it. There’s ads on every screen. Bye, Boost!
Weird, no ads on Android for me
I second Boost. But I haven’t tried any others.
I’m using Sync (on android) and it’s quite pleasant. No ads, does what it needs to.
I can highly reccomend voyager :)
Voyager is best and is also available for Android.
I just switched from Voyager to Mlem. I can’t think of anything I miss but can list of things I like more
Note that “best” is a matter of preference.
I like Thunder, but it probably depends on which specific features are important to you. Someone should make a comparison table that lists all the core features for each app.
You can also check out [email protected] for more options and information
I use Eternity on Android. Interstellar when on Piefed. The latter is still rougher around the edges.
Mlem app is imo the best iOS app. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mlem-for-lemmy/id6450543782
I was using Mlem and loving it after switching from Voyager with a quick trial of Arctic. I posted asking about missing features here and the comments end with me switching:

I butchered the post but it might be useful
I’ve been using Mlem and really enjoy it. The devs are really responsive if you have a question or issue, too.
Arctic gets my vote!
Arctic is great, but it appears to be abandonware at this point. I have occasional problems with it failing to fetch posts, now, too. Haven’t pinned down why.
Oh, no! I haven’t been keeping up.
Yeah, I found it odd that it seemed to load slower than other clients, as if it had a proxy somewhere that was slow. But that just doesn’t make sense
