not a single representative from Western Europe or North America attended Trump’s “peace board” signing. Representatives from the G7 were conspicuously absent, as were the original BRICS countries, and most of the G20. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Neyanhu wanted to be there but couldn’t because he’s wanted by the International Criminal Court for alleged war crimes, the Financial Times reported. Israeli President Isaac Herzog was in Davos but skipped the ceremony…

I often think there is no insult to trump that doesn’t insult that particular thing… the worst possible thing I can imagine is better than it. Even dehumanizing him to it isn’t enough. I just wish it can be completely devoid from existence at all.

Today on a post about a woman who enslaved a mentally challenged girl for 25 years, someone said “she’s a real Trump”, and I found it perfectly fitting.

“I may be a piece of shit, but at least I’m not a Trump!”

Its true. Shit promotes growth in plant life and trump has forced the EPA to unban cancer causing herbicides.

I came here to say the same thing. Trump can’t be humiliated, he’s a narcissist, you have to be capable of feeling shame to feel humiliated.

The way this is phrased would be fucking hilarious if it wasn’t the tragic reality. They’re saying it like it’s “I’d love to come to your barbecue but I can’t because I have to work that day!”

“Sorry, bro, I’m wanted by the ICC for war crimes.”

IIRC countries make contributions to the UN too, but it’s more transparent about where the money goes and not quite as lopsided in terms of power balance.

(Yes, the veto powers blocking shit are annoying, but on the other hand, that’s what keeps the UN a forum for negotiation rather than an object of power struggles over who gets to control it.)

Because they know he’s a joke and that’s all he’ll ever be.

Hey asshole, you wanted to be president because you thought it would get you world respect? Everyone knows what you really are. Your “money” and infantile understandings in how the world works, much less, this country works does not get you respect, you pedophile.

Keep it up. The way to deal with a narcissist of this clowns caliber is to ridicule and mock and to not EVER cave. Let him see how much everyone disposes him. He can’t handle it. This is an idiot who has a personal assistant who literals PRINTS OUT good news of him to read. How fucking pathetic and weak is that!

I’m just repeating what I read other places, but I understand the US already had extensive rights to set up military bases and Trump did what he always does which is light a bridge on fire to get what he already had or worse.

Oh sure. If the US State Department or Joint Chiefs had gone to NATO through normal channels, this wouldn’t be news. I doubt anyone would even know we were expanding our military footprint in Greenland. Now its this enormous pain point for Denmark, for NATO, and for the US Pentagon.

But the idea that Trump has somehow lost clout is predicated on the notion that the other NATO states had grown a spine. Turns out they were even less serious about defending Greenland than Trump was about invading it. As an opportunity to call Europe’s bluff, this really was a win. Trump got to announce “I’m going to do what I want and you won’t stop me” and confirm the rest of NATO would not stop him.

Bully says “I’m going to push you down and steal your lunch money.”

Kid says “If you do, I’m going to call the teacher.”

            Bully: “Teacher won’t care”

            Kid: “Teacher!”

Teacher: distantly “Don’t fight, you two.”

There was no lunch money handed over.

              What actually happened:

Trump: “I’m going to attack a NATO country”

              NATO: “You shouldn’t do that”

              Trump goes golfing.

              You: “4D chess!!!”

Doesn’t sound like it, seems the only one rambling about that is the confused elder who’s unsure whether it’s iceland or greenland he wants.

“Based upon a very productive meeting that I have had with the Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte, we have formed the framework of a future deal with respect to Greenland,” he said.

He did not give details, but said talks would continue to reach the deal.

Rutte, for his part, said he had not discussed the key issue of Danish sovereignty over Greenland in his meeting with Trump.
