In that case, don’t put a date on the flyer, but put a date on the website.
That way people can think that they missed it. Bonus points if you pick a date that’s unreasonably far into the past.

Aye. QR codes have a lot of redundancy that can be designed in interesting ways.
No joke, they’re like that in part to accommodate things like pigeon shit in urban areas, or wear and tear on posters etc.
This video, how to read QR codes by hand, has great insight into how they work (the first fifth explains it very well).
You can do a lot of fun things with them by designing around the small portion of important bits.
Qr code art is a whole thing, abusing both the point finding algorithm that identifies the code and the data reconstruction’s error correction algorithm which let you read it even if parts are damaged. Look up controlnet Qr codes
