Tbh, he was already acting like a monster when he got annoyed with his daughter just for wanting to be silly with him.
I honestly thought this was the punchline before realizing there were more panels
It was a hard day at the office, he’s a middle manager for ICE
I wish I found this more sweet than virtue signaling.
Is it possible that a person’s views on immigration can be nuanced and for them not to be a monster. Examine Denmark which led with a very open policy for decades and had to readjust that.

Except you are arguing against a strawman, and clearly this isn’t about what you’re talking about.
Also, I’m not sure you are using the term virtue signalling soundly at all.
For some people, possessing any empathy at all qualifies as “virtue signaling”.
People who have no virtues see any expression of such as “virtue signaling.”
This isn’t virtue signaling… There’s a ton of people out there who advocate for ethnic cleansing. They just don’t call it that
Jokes on you, I have progressive views on immigration and many political points and I’m STILL not a very good father
I think anyone who thinks they’re not a good father is probably a better father than they think. Source: guy who thinks he’s a bad father.
Indeed, I’m being somewhat facetious. I’m a good enough father to know that I make and need to fix many mistakes
Starting with these fucking kids 😮💨
I set myself the goal of making sure mine survives until 18. Anything past that is bonus points.
So far I have lots of bonus points.
I’ve also made lots and lots of mistakes, but I do the same and try to learn and improve. It’s just part of being human.
This is why people need to have more than one.
First one is for practice!
Counterpoint: My wife’s dad says he is a bad father and is currently addicted to meth and in prison and thats probably one of the least crazy situations he has found himself in in the last 40 years.
Addiction is a mental health issue and incarceration is classist warfare; people can be incarcerated for benign action that have harmed no one. Those aren’t things to hold against someone without knowing more about the circumstances.
None of that makes them a bad father inherently.
Edit: to whoever made the comment then deleted it. I saw what it said. You a bitch

This melted my brain. I hope you’re happy
Recently found out my dad opposes the minimum wage. He’s always the final panel though so I don’t know why I was so shocked to find out. Still, seemed like a new low.
Very easy to oppose labor policy from retirement. Shockingly difficult to oppose public pensions, though.
So many die-hard conservatives will flence a sitting rep for so much as a reduction in COLA.
Apparently he’s always felt this way, even before retirement. Every single employer he had during my lifetime before he retired screwed him over big time, and somehow he believes that it is their right to do that. It makes zero sense to me.
The cultural indoctrination of industrialization and helping capitalists being a good thing that good citizens do I’m sure had something to do with it.
Aka he was brainwashed like most boomers
Also it was far easier 30, 40 years ago to survive a bit of exploitation, especially if you were a white male.
It’s not so easy any more.
I also oppose the minimum wage. It not being enough to live an acceptable quality of life at full time hours is bullshit.
I live in Spokane, WA, just across the border from Idaho. Where I live the minimum wage is 16.66/hr with no income tax. Just a short journey into Idaho, and it’s the federal low of 7.25/hr minus income tax.
In the theme of that one meme with that one actor who I can’t remember the name of and am too lazy too look up …
"You oppose the minimum wage because you simp for the owning class.
I oppose the minimum wage because I believe wage labor is inherently oppressive and the owner-worker dichotomy should be abolished.
We are not the same"
To clarify, he believes that there should be no floor to what an employer may pay you. Believes that by removing the minimum wage, it would put downward pressure on all wages, and that would be a good thing. (I assume you recognize that, but just want to make sure you know that he is in opposition to your viewpoint).

It might result in fewer billionaires, at least temporarily.
